Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2026

These terms cover any web design and build work carried out by Capital Website Design (sole trader, Wellington, New Zealand) for a client. Once we agree to a project by email, these terms apply.

Scope of work

Each project is quoted for a specific set of pages and features, listed in the quote email. That list is the scope. Anything beyond it is treated as new work and quoted separately.

Payment

Every project is a flat fee, paid in two parts. Fifty percent is due before work begins and fifty percent is due when the site goes live. Payment is a one-time cost. There is no ongoing retainer, subscription, or monthly fee charged by Capital Website Design.

Third-party costs (domain registration, hosting, email) are paid by the client, directly to those providers, and are not part of the fee.

Revisions

A round of feedback and revisions is included before launch. Larger changes after launch can be done at a fair hourly rate, quoted before any work starts.

Ownership

Once the final invoice is paid, all site files and content belong to the client. The domain and hosting are always registered in the client's name.

Liability

Capital Website Design takes reasonable care to build a site that works well. It is provided as is, without warranty. Capital Website Design is not liable for indirect losses or lost business resulting from downtime, third-party services, or client content.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
